Sea Bandits

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 01/08/2026

1. Who we are

Sea Bandits / Munk Studios Platform Network operates this website and the game. For privacy matters, contact support@seabandits.net.

2. What we collect

Account data: email address, username, and a hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
Technical data: the IP address you register and log in from, and a hardware identifier from the game client, both used for security and anti-cheat.
Gameplay data: your pirate's name, progress, items, guild membership, chat needed to run the game, and reports made by or about you.
Purchase data: which premium package you bought and when. Payment itself is handled by our payment provider — we never see or store your card details.

3. Why we process it (legal bases)

To provide the game and your account (performance of contract); to keep the service fair and secure — anti-cheat, ban evasion prevention, abuse handling (legitimate interest); to meet bookkeeping obligations on purchases (legal obligation); and to contact you about your account (performance of contract). We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Where it lives & who sees it

Game and account data are stored on secure servers within the EU, and access to them is restricted to what running the service requires. Payments are processed by our payment provider under their own privacy policy. Other players see only your in-game presence (pirate name, guild, rankings) — never your email or IP.

5. How long we keep it

Account and gameplay data are kept while your account exists. Purchase records are kept as long as bookkeeping law requires. Security logs (IPs, hardware ids) are kept only as long as needed for anti-abuse purposes. If you delete your account, remaining data is removed or anonymised within 30 days, except what we are legally required to retain.

6. Cookies

The website uses a single session cookie strictly to keep you logged in — no tracking, no analytics, no third-party cookies. The game itself stores your settings locally on your device.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have inaccuracies corrected, have your data deleted, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email us and we will respond within a month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in Denmark: Datatilsynet).

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will announce it on this website before the change takes effect.
